gift/request/contest entry for all in one ! i'm magic like that i guess. or lazy, whichever.

this took soooooo long!!!111

her characters arc and keith, obviously.. i had to study the characters since.. they were really difficult to get out of my system, for some reason. i read this short interaction story tashi wrote, and they were on a balcony type thing.. on this castle-in-the-heavens type deal. sounded really hxc pretty, so i tried to capture that scene as much as possible. i didn't want to paint them interacting, i wanted them each in their separate worlds, on the same canvas, but i don't think i captured that.. as well, if at all. :(
meh. as i mentioned in my journal, i tried a different sort of technique when painting most of this, the biggest example being arc's wings... and they turned out alright.. i'm very pleased. :)

/edit: this took 16+hours and fucking destroyed me.

Arc blends into her environment wonderfully. It must be the white clothes, easy to reflect the light and stuff. The wings ROCK, too, I don't know what you did, but its a winner! She looks like a greek statue, its amazing. Her little friend, though, seems a bit out of his element. Maybe its the random suit, or that its harder to get the colors of the moon onto him. I dunno. He seems to have a strip of flesh colored fruit by the foot coming out of his right sleeve. I don't mean to be mean. >.> Just feeling commenty. And, though it seems to appeal to others, bling and bellbottoms on a guy...maybe not so hot. XDD

Anyways, fantabulous job, stuff like this is why I like to watch you. ^.^

i think he came out a little off from the get go because i did his face with a different color background than arc's, i had it less purple and more yellow to get a sort of vampire look.. because hey, he's a vampire. i knew it'd be tricky to get it to look right when i started it, haha. keith is supposed to have a poet shirt with the suit, but i changed it out of habit i think, haha, i didn't even realize i did that. his hands are so crappy looking, i need to do another gay hand study or something.
the pocketwatch is keith's symbol thing.. i added the baggy pants because i'm gay and add them on everyone i draw. :3

I'M TELLING MARK YOU'RE GAY. It explains the giant breasts, but I won't blame that on you. Not your character and some people go for boat floaters I guess. ANYwayz.

The shading is rock on. Those wings look like they're going to come get me in my sleep, really. You did the stars a lot different too, yeah. Soft focus looks pretty good.

good coloring job. as usual your colors are beautiful. and i think the new painting style thing worked out pretty well for you.

i kind of agree with lunaticstar about the bling and bellbottoms..baggy pants are kind of passe.

..and the chick just kinda looks like a whore. maybe like a greek statue..but a greek statue of a whore..haha.

i just noticed i kind of made her more.... thick .. than she really should be.
i wanted to make arc look really hot because it seems like something tashi needed in her library, lol, but everytime i draw a hot chick she always comes out kind of overweight. overweight chicks are hot ! thats what that means !

i draw baggy pants because when i sketch i draw calves as huge blocks! its like.. the only stylistic part about my drawings. if i did cartoons it'd be perfect, but to cover it up for my crap realism, i just draw baggy pants. i heart them anyway. :p you hate baggy pants because of mooks.
